Re: [SOLVED] remote access to cups

don't take this as rude -- but are you certain the cups daemon is running properly on your machine? -- the nice this about cups is the administration interface can you ping this IP -- what more do you know about the systems -- does SSH work?

Re: [SOLVED] remote access to cups

i have webmin install and i can ping, ssh, webmin (:10000) to that machine. but i just can not visit :631.
i find the cupsd.conf that has directive "BrowseAllow @localhost", i read the doc in cups website and they said it can be changed to "BrowseAllow from all", i don't know if the "from" is needed. i try both with and without the "from". both come out with the same can not access error.

Re: [SOLVED] remote access to cups

OK, I figured it out, i should add a line to tell the cups not only listen to itself localhost:631, but also 192.168.1.180:631.
i don't know what is the different between two, but it work and i can remotely connect to the server's cups. add share printer with samba and print from out machine.
