did you use fdm+mutt with pop3 or imap?
i have been wanting to try imap with those two for a couple of months now but never really went with it. i currently use offlineimap instead of fdmedit: ok you didnt say you used those two. maybe someone else has experience
All my accounts are pop3 and I actually did use fdm/mutt, but only for a day.
btw: fdm only took half the time that getmail needed to fetch my mails here.

I use fdm to pull mail from my Gmail a/c using IMAP. It works fine.
But I use Emacs+VM though, not mutt.

I am wondering if anyone here that uses claws has problems with internet links sometimes not showing in emails I have been getting some emails where the links don't show up is there an option or something in claws ?

I don't use no email you insensitive clod! Why am I here then? No idea. POSTCOUNT++!!
No but seriously, when I *did* use email, mutt was my choice. A b**ch to configure, but all the good pieces of software are like that.....

Hehe, Claws is undoubtfully the most popular around here (and I'll include my machines there).
I also use Mutt, which is my favourite. And that would be all I'd ever use if only people understood email = text.
Anyone else had problems with Gmail's SMTP lately? I had to change from port 465 to 587 to make it work again (msmtp AND Claws). Seems like I have to do that, every six months, back and forth.

Wow claws rocks! I just installed it and man, what a relief after the bloated Evolution....
One question though: It automatically remembers my password, how can I disable this ?
EDIT: Solved, deleted the password from the account settings, now it asks every time...

The day Microsoft makes a product that doesn't suck, is the day they make a vacuum cleaner.

But if they tell you that I've lost my mind, maybe it's not gone just a little hard to find...

mutt or emacs+VM, it all depends on my mood really.
@Onyros: I've been using port 465 without any problems for the last 8 months or so with gmail's smtp

As suggested by MrElendig:
I wanted to set up OfflineIMAP to get my mail from Gmail - I was using Claws Mail to do that, but this was kinda a pain in the *ss...
So, OfflineIMAP works - but do you guys have an idea how I am supposed to read the Maildir now with Claws? In their FAQ I found the suggestion to use their Maildir plugin, but... well... there ain't no Maildir plugin.
So anyone doing the same thing?

I prefer Thunderbird.
It has nice extensions like Google Calendar Provider. You can read and modify your google calendars directly from Thunderbird.
Very useful.
With this simple script I can also send my mails from terminal
#!/bin/bash
USAGE="tmail usage: tmail -t TO -c CC -s SUBJECT -b BODY -a ATTACHMENT"
while getopts "t:c:s:b:a:" options; do
case $options in
t ) TO=$OPTARG;;
c ) CC=$OPTARG;;
s ) SUBJECT=$OPTARG;;
b ) BODY=$OPTARG;;
a ) ATTACHMENT=$OPTARG;;
\? ) echo $USAGE
exit 1;;
* ) echo $USAGE
exit 1;;
esac
done
thunderbird -compose to=\'$TO\',cc=\'$CC\',subject=\'$SUBJECT\',body=\'$BODY\',attachment=\'file:///$ATTACHMENT\'
Not bad...don't you think?

So... a lot of people mentioning mutt. I was always curious about it.
Anyone can point reasonable guides on how configuring and using mutt?
