no automounting in gnome

Hi,

Got no automounting in gnome sure I can pmount ... but it used to load usbkeys automagically hal and dbus are set so

wondered if anyone else is having the same problem

My wife's PC has been showing the same symptoms for about a week now.  She runs fam and I use gamin. My automount works great, so if that's any indication.....

Gnome shouldn't need either IIRC, Nautilus is supposed to use kevents directly.

On the other hand, last time I ran Gnome I started getting messages about not being able to connect to a FAM server and how I ought to have gamin installed, so it could be that the Gnome devs have gotten a clue...

its still not working, used to plug ipod and it opened up.... not sure how to find out whats wrong?

ah ha just tried to open Removable drives and media [System] ... got informed hald is not running me check it out
