Hi,
i initially set up my "old" Acer TravelMate 4020 with arch. All works pretty fine, exccept: Knetworkmanager.
First of all, my wireless card is displayed by ifconfig, same with my conventional card, so i don't think that it's an hardware issue. I use the ipw2200 module.
Cards are:
Intel Wireless 2200 BG
some Broadcom
here some snippets from my rc.conf:
eth0="dhcp" #thats cable
eth1="dhcp" #wireless
INTERFACES=(lo eth0 eth1) #wiki says "disable", but disabled, it's the same result
Here are my daemons:
DAEMONS=(syslog-ng !network netfs crond alsa hal dhcdbd networkmanager fam kdm)
Networkmanager doesn't recognize ANY device. if i use normal network daemon, it works fine, but i "need" networkmanager for roaming
Thanks a lot for helping!

sure:
lo no wireless extensions.
eth0 no wireless extensions.
eth1 unassociated ESSID:""
Mode:Managed Channel=0 Access Point: Not-Associated
Bit Rate:0 kb/s Tx-Power=20 dBm Sensitivity=8/0
Retry limit:7 RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off
Power Management:off
Link Quality:0 Signal level:0 Noise level:0
Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0
Knetworkmanager shows nothing, network works, but networkmanager doesn't.

no ideas?
i can not imagine that something couldn't run on Arch.
If it helps: nmapplet makes messages at shutdown (i know this from other distributions using nmapplet), which indicate that it finds something. But why nmapplet won't work as knetworkmanager?
EDIT: Works now. Was quite simple, user wasn't in group "network".
