Re: wlan0 err using IPV4LL address.....

Hello!

How do you setup your connection? With a wirelesse manager like: netcfg2 or networkmanager or Wicd ... ?

Do you have a /var/log/pacman.log?

What happens if you try to assign a static IP to your wireless interface? Are you able to connect than?
What is
$ iwconfig
and
$ ifconfig
saying?

Though the problem is that dhcpcd can`t connect your router to assign an IP to your AP. This might be due to:
false encryption key/setup
out of range
driver issue
false network setup (could be excluded here, because you just didn`t changed anything in your settings I think ...)

You might wanna take a look at what you actually upgraded - usually helps - and see if rolling back any of those packages helps.

And a tip: start diagnosing yourself, we can't do that for you. Just saying 'it doesn't work anymore' doesn't help us and ultimately doesn't help you.

Re: wlan0 err using IPV4LL address.....

Huhu @ both: there seems to be a problem with this iwl4965 driver:
http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php? … 42#p396142
Even if you haven`t got the same symptoms, the driver seems to be acting weird at all, so it`s likely that your problems are related to those above ^^.
So, just try to downgrade to a former driver, till the new driver is fixed.

Re: wlan0 err using IPV4LL address.....

Top_se: after the error occurs iwconfig doesnt give an output. and ifconfig gives normal until it gets to wlan0 at which point it doesnt give anymore output. I also reconfigure iwconfig every reboot with the command line..... somthing like.... iwconfig wlan0 essid .......... iwconfig wlan0 ap ........... iwconfig wlan0 key............  and finally dhcpcd wlan0

Re: wlan0 err using IPV4LL address.....

i also found that topic slightly unrelated. my computer doesnt freeze up and i havnt noticed a cpu spike at any given time. but ill try downgrading that package regardless.

my card is also running via ndiswrapper with the native windows driver for the bcm4328 card. if that helps any.

Re: wlan0 err using IPV4LL address.....

oh, sorry, I just guessed that you use  the iwl4965-driver either, but  I guessed wrong, sorry ...

And what does your pacman.log say? Which programs were upgrated?

Which means you have got driver-problems. Ndiswrapper isn`t able to setup your interface correctly though ...
Is the interface present before the error occurs?
So, check that the ndiswrapper-module is loaded in rc.conf, that ndiswrapper can find the windows-drivers etc, maybe pacman updated ndiswrapper?

Btw, this might help you there:

good luck!
