i recently did a pacman -Syu
and now my squirrelmail doesn't work
it keeps saying that the username is not known or the password is incorrect
since i know the password for that username is not incorrect, could it be that pacman changed where it was looking for the usernames? squirrelmail was working beautifully before, now it's broke :? any ideas? (please don't say "sounds like a chmod or chown error" cause i'm pretty sure i've gone that route

your old config file was probably overwritten.
did you put it as do not overwrite in the pacman.conf?
if not, they it probably got nuked.

I just did an upgrade and my squirrelmail works with no problems.

my old config file was saved and pacman replaced it with a new one
i traded the two back after i noticed a problem
still no good
think it might have affected the postfix as well?

'not incorrect'.... why not just use 'correct'??

did you do a diff on the two first? Something might have actually changed in the config file format/new fields for the new version of squirrelmail..
I am reaching a bit here, but who knows...
And yes, you should check to make sure that your mail works normally before assuming it is something wrong with the squirrel..
