I have x11vnc working great on my Arch server and use vncviewer all the time on my Arch desktop, but I'm trying to get VNC to work so I can see my XP box from my Arch box.
I have installed TightVNC on the XP box and the server is running, but when I try:
vncviewer 192.168.1.102
From shell it just hangs. IP is correct. Adding :5900 for port doesn't do it either.
Thanks for any help

that's because windows doesn't use vnc.

Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

TightVNC is cross-platform, works perfectly here when I use it, from Arch Linux, to log in to a Windows XP box with a TightVNC server.

It might be very well that the different servers/viewers aren't interchangeable, afaik there is no standard to conform to when it comes to VNC?
