no intrnet on my new pc

Hi, i've recently installed arch (32bit) on my new pc (2007.08-2), and after i did what it says here (dhcp), i get an error msg when i try to connect:

eth0: unknown interface: No such device

Error, eth0: ioctl SIOCGIFHWADDR: no such device

I have an ASUS P5QL-E motherboard with onboard network card, and a router.

Thanx advanced!

Re: no intrnet on my new pc

Probably the driver is not loaded. With hwd or hwdetect you can find out which driver you need and then modprobe that module.

Maybe your hardware is to new for the install iso and you need to use the 2008.06 install-cd.

Zl.
/EDIT: it looks as though the driver for your gigabit network-controller (Atheros L1E) is only very recently added to the kernel. You should try the very latest installcd, made specifically for the FROSCON-conference (see http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=53738)
