Accessing CUPS-Printer from another computer

Hi,

I own a good old HP Laserjet which is connected to my desktop-computer via CUPS. It's working alright. Now I also want to use this printer from another computer, my notebook. So I have also installed CUPS on my notebook and then added a new printer with the URI ipp://ip-of-desktop-computer:631/printers/LaserJet-2100. At first I thought that this would be it, since I could happily order test-pages via the CUPS-webinterface of my notebook. Well, the problem is that not a single real-world application is working.

The problem seems to be related to authentification, since evince tells me: "Failed to print document: Can't prompt for authorization".  GEdit same. Open Office just "Error while printing". If I keep trying long enough the message changes to "Error Printing: Too many failed attempts".
This seems to be the fault of my notebook's CUPS server, since after restarting it I'm back to the original error-message.

I have no idea how and where I am supposed to do the authentification. I can't even remember setting up access restrictions for the printer ...

Here are my configs:
Notebook: http://rafb.net/p/TkWcuQ81.html
"Server": http://rafb.net/p/sxFuaQ87.html

Thks.

Re: Accessing CUPS-Printer from another computer

"AuthInfoRequired No" in printers.conf on the notebook fixed it.
