Re: openbox editor

If you'ra looking for an editor with a gui, i recommend Leafpad.
It's lightweight and has no dependencies.

Re: openbox editor

+1 for Geany.
It has all of the features that you will need from any text editor and more.

If you want a challenge, GVIM(instead of regular vim in this case) will give you the ability to use the mouse and save you a little time over the standard console version.

Re: openbox editor

I'm moving to Openbox as well. Now I'm looking for a (lightweight) text editor with block mode support. Any ideas?

Windows was made for looking at success from a distance through a wall of oversimplicity. Linux removes the wall, so you can just walk up to success and make it your own.

You're welcome.

One of the things that may not be noticeable at first is that it's incredibly configurable. If you look under Options-->Open Global Options File, all of that changes the editor. If you're running as a regular user, you can copy all of it and paste it into the User Options File. From there you can easily edit whatever you want. There are a couple of options that I know of that don't work for some reason as a regular user. For instance, the window setting have to be edited by root:

position.left and position.top: comment these out if you want the WM to control positioning.

position.width and position.height: The default size of the window.

Finding information on anything for this editor is simple. Everything is documented on-line.
