Hey!
Long-time lurker, first-time poster here ... first of all - I LOVE Arch! ^_^.
But it makes my CS:S sad. These are my launcher settings:
-game cstrike -nojoy -dxlevel 80 -w 1152 -h 864 -windowed
And my userconfig:
rate 30000
cl_updaterate 75
cl_cmdrate 101
cl_interp "0,013333333333333333333333333333333"
cl_crosshairusealpha 1
cl_crosshairalpha 800
cl_dynamiccrosshair 0
violence_hblood 1
violence_ablood 1
violence_agibs 1
violence_hgibs 1
hud_fastswitch 1
fps_max 300
jpeg_quality 100
mat_picmip 1
r_lod 1
cl_forcepreload 1
r_drawmodeldecals 0
r_dynamic 0
r_3dsky 0
r_teeth 0
gl_clear 0
mat_bumpmap 0
However, I keep getting results like these:
I've already tried:
* Enabling/Disabling GLSL
* dxlevel 90, 81, 80 and 70
* Enabling/Disabling pixel shaders under WINE
My config specs are as follows:
* P4 3.2Ghz
* GeForce4 Ti 4200 AGP8X 128Mb
* 1,5Gb RAM
* nvidia-96xx drivers
* WINE 1.1.5 from pacman, not AUR.
Any help?

Have you tried fullscreen?

Yes, same thing happens

When you used dxlevel 90 did those green/purple colors on the wall go away too?
Offline
Nope, but I got smoother shading with -dxlevel 95 and some config lines:
cl_phys_props_enable 0
cl_phys_props_max 0
cl_ragdoll_physics_enable 1
cl_show_splashes 0
cl_smooth 0
fog_enable 0
fog_enable_water_fog 0
mat_bloom 0
mat_bumpmap 0
mat_clipz 0
mat_fastnobump 1
mat_fastspecular 1
mat_specular 0
mat_picmip 0
r_avglight 0
r_eyeglintlodpixels 0
Still, the same overbright error happens. It also happens with the windows on the walls, props, barrels, and so on.

I see you are using compiz. What happens if you use a non composite WM?
Offline
Same. I know compiz causes problems with WINE games, or any native game for that matter
