Quick question on RAM and Gigabit ethernet

Does the amount of RAM affect the throughput of Gigabit ethernet?  For example, if I have 4 x Gigabit ethernet ports on my Archlinux server and I move files from one PC to another (through the Archlinux server) will the amount of RAM affect the throughput?  Will it be any different if I move files on the server to a PC (rather than from one PC to another)?
