I'm so sick of pidgin right now. Is there an MSN client for linux that isn't complete and utter crap ?
By that I mean that it can just send/receive messages and files successfully.
I've used emesene in the past and tried it again just now but it won't send files. Any suggestions ?
What do you guys and gals use for MSN ?

The day Microsoft makes a product that doesn't suck, is the day they make a vacuum cleaner.

I still use Pidgin. What do you find wrong with it?
I quite like Emesene too, I used it for a while until I found it more convenient to be able to have IRC on in Pidgin at the same time. There's Mercury, a java-based client, which I have just installed from the community repo--unfortunately I just get a blank window when I run it.
There is also Carrier, a fork of Pidgin. I haven't used it myself.

You can have a look at galaxium or aMSN.
I use Pidgin myself, perhaps you can try msn-pecan on it.
Have you Syued today?

I use emesene, which is quite minimal (doesn't have audio and video chat)
On my kde desktop I really like kmess, which I like A LOT.

@moljac024
Have you tried using emesene from svn? You can send and receive files and should be able to receive webcam videos.

Actually that's not pidgins fault. Consider switching to XMPP instead.

Hmm, I will try that. Just need to figure it out first. Know any gateway ?

Yep, I'm using my @gmail account. Otherwise, try jabber.org, I think it's pretty stable.

I'd love to use other protocol for IM, but here in Brazil at least, most people use MSN.

Being that some Jabber clients are among best IM apps in general you should consider using Gajim (gajim.org) or Psi (psi-im.org) with an MSN transport. Besides XMPP/Jabber is a de-facto standard of IM communication and the future of IM (Google and AIM already use it in some way or another and others will follow). Since you're from Serbia check out elitesecurity.org jabber server, they have all the transports you need.
You need to install an RTFM interface.
