I just fresh installed my Arch Linux system.. on 2.6.26 my Wireless ran fine.. but on 2.6.27... my network wont connect.. it gives me an error that it couldnt associate with ath0 (my wifi adapter) increase WIRELESS_TIMEOUT or check network is Wep or no security.. if I run dhcpcd ath0 I can get an IP address and it works.. What do I need to do so I dont have to manually do this every time?

Have you tried using the quirks array in rc.conf? I had to add one quirk lately to have things work smoothly. I think I added prescan and preessid...
Have a look here: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Net … d_later.29

No I have not tried that.. im a bit of a Linux newby so im still trying to learn heh. But thanks! Ill give that a shot.. if that doesnt work Ill dump my system.. install Kernel 2.6.26 and Just slap that in my ignorepkg group for when I do full system upgrades.. good thing it doesnt even take an hour to get Arch up if your using GNOME. Thanks!

Better thing is you don't have to dump your system just to downgrade the kernel, for example:
# pacman -U /var/cache/pacman/pkg/kernel26-2.6.26.5-1-i686.pkg.tar.gz

What network-card are you using? Which modules are loaded? Are you using net-profiles or network in rc.conf?
My guess is your atheros-chipset is supported by a new driver in the .27-kernel.

I have a Netgear Wireless G Mimo Card Model Number WPN311. Modules I use that are loaded are Ath_PCI and ath_Hal. Using Madwifi Drivers. I use rc.conf for my network. Basically the problem is simply this: When it attempts to connect to network it says either turn up WIRELESS_TIMEOUT or check for blahblah security blah blah moocow blahblah. If I use dhcpcd ath0 it can connect.. So I think all I need to do is just adjust that wireless timeout thing since its prolly giving up before It connects.

Zack89,
Did you ever find a solution as I am having the exact same issue with my Atheros 5212 chipset?

i have the same issue, i'm using the b43 driver ( Linksys WPC54GS card ) through Network Manager ( did exactly as written in the wiki )
and since the upgrades, i have to manually run dhcpcd wlan0 to make my wifi connection work .. ( no problems with wired connections )
i don't understand what's the problem, and why do i need to do that .. moreover when i run dhcpcd, my ip is updated but the information displayed by network manager does not refresh

Have you tried wicd to manage your network connections? I've seen somewhere that network manager still wasn't ready for prime time (I don't know if this still holds true though). As for wicd I've been able to use it without any issues with a broadcom card (using the b43 driver) and an atheros card (ath5k driver).
