Hi,
I recently upgraded to the latest kernel and version of dhcpd on my laptop and I can't get wireless working when logging in. I need to manually update /etc/resolv.conf with my nameserver and then it works. And don't know why but it seems that dhcpd is overwriting my resolv.conf.
# Generated by dhcpcd
# /etc/resolv.conf.head can replace this line
# /etc/resolv.conf.tail can replace this line
Those two lines always appear when I reboot my system.

No not at all, my wireless adapter is correctly associated with my access point, and it is assigned with a valid ip adress. When I try to ping any domain, it can't resolve them because I think dhcpd is overwriting my resolv.conf.

Oh... when I setup my wireless i didnt touch my resolv.conf file.. I just added my interface and connection to rc.conf

use /etc/resolv.conf.head or call dhcpcd with "-C resolv.conf"
archlinux - please read this and this — twice — then ask questions.

Okay it works correctly when I use resolv.conf.head. This was the only way to make it work because I think that it's my network manager (Wicd) that calls dhcpd, so I can't modify the params to call it.
Any particular reason why it was changed from previous version ?

I would assume to extend the ability to disable hooks without adding a shit ton of options. That would be a question for the devs of dhcpcd though. Glad it works.
