wlan help

I know there is alot of threads about this ...

I have a all0192 wlan card with prism2.54 chipset

running cardctl ident i get
IEEE 802.11 Wireless Lanpc card

trying to modprobe prism2_cs i get Module prism2_cs not found
i have install the linuxwlan package..

so i can not setup the card with
**** FROM OTHER TRHEAD ***
wlanctl-ng wlan0 lnxreq_ifstate ifstate=enable
wlanctl-ng wlan0 lnxreq_autojoin ssid=<your routers SSID name> authtype=opensystem
dhcpcd wlan0
**** END *****

You mean you have the wlan-ng26 package?

Are you actually starting the pcmcia daemon?  That should be enough to get the drivers loaded and have a device created.

yup i got wlan wlan-ng26 and i got pcmcia daemon loaded but still i can't modprobe prism2_cs
all i get from doing that is
Module prism2_cs not found

prob. solved all i had to do was to copy
/lib/modules/2.x.x/linux-wlan****/prism2_cs

to

/lib/modules/2.x.x/kernel/drivers/pcmcia/wireless

then all was good smile

So you built all this stuff yourself? You're not using the stock kernel?
