Wireless connected but not working

I just installed Arch Linux and I am having trouble getting my wireless to work.

Here is what i do:
"iwlist eth1 scan"
"iwconfig eth1 essid MikeTechGuy.com"
"dhclient eth1"
this gives me an IP of 10.0.0.162 -- which is OK because I use 10.x.x.x addresses on my network.

So everything should work, however, I am unable to ping anything, either on the local network or on the internet.

If I run ifconfig eth1 it shows "Link encap: Ethernet Hw addrr MYMAC \ inet addr:10.0.0.162 Bcast:10.0.0.255 Mask 255.255.255.0" also RX packets:1911 error:6 dropper:55 and TX packets:112 errors:0 dropped:0"

I am using a Intel ProWireless 3945 and have the ipw3945 driver as well as the ipw3945 module and ipw3945d daemon.

Anyone know why I can not surf wirelessly?

Also, if I do tcpdump -i eth1 it displays various packets that it picks up.

Are you sure that your wireless adapter is eth1 not wlan0 or something else?
