[SOLVED]Proftpd and mysql compile option

I am trying to setup proftpd with mysql user authentication.
However when I start the daemon, I get error messages regarding the lines in my config file concerning mysql.
I believe that it may be caused by proftpd not being compiled with the option given below. But is there a way I can check this?

./configure --with-modules=mod_sql:mod_sql_mysql

(found on http://www.castaglia.org/proftpd/doc/co … O-SQL.html)

A search on the forum did not shed any light on this particular situation.

I was trying to follow the instructions on this page to setup the server.
http://www.howtoforge.com/virtual-hosti … buntu-8.04

Any pointers in the right direction are appreciated.

The normal package doesn't support SQL, you should try this instead: http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=12582

Re: [SOLVED]Proftpd and mysql compile option

Thanks for the info. I had guessed I would need to use a special compiled version.
It's very helpful that AUR always have the packages I need smile

I am however still curious to know if I can see what options the official package are compiled with somewhere.

Look in the PKGBUILD in your abs tree.

Re: [SOLVED]Proftpd and mysql compile option

OK. Thanks. I will take a look at the ABS system.
I need to play a little with building a system from scratch anyway.

And just to be on top of things. Merry X-mas to everyone smile
