Xorg update: broken VCs

After updating and rebooting (which also including new nvidia and kernel) my VCs are no longer working after starting Xorg.

Changing to vc/1 gives a blank screen, that which you would expect from vc/7 when Xorg isn't running. Going back to vc/7 starts Xorg again (sometimes glitched?)

After closing Xorg the VCs become usable again, however when I switch to vc/7 the whole system will lock up. vc/7 itself looks entirely gray with some garbage at the top left.

I successfully experimented by running as root: (sleep 100 && reboot) &

Can someone confirm this? Please use the above command to avoid locking your computer (ctrl+alt+del won't work).

Re: Xorg update: broken VCs

sashko: this problem seems to be unrelated to those.
