Learning Virtual Arch's Local IP Address

Hey There,

I'm running Arch Linux on Virtualbox and it works perfect! I'm really proud to see Arch as an option during creation of a new virtual linux distro.. Any way, the question is that I want to learn the local IP address of Arch which it automatically takes from DHCP.. I don't want to open vbox and do ifconfig to learn it, neither to get ip address manually....

I thought of broadcasting it over the internet etc but there might be some other (and hopefully better!) solutions out there; that's why I wanted to ask you guys... smile

Any ideas?

Re: Learning Virtual Arch's Local IP Address

why don't you configure archlinux with static ip?

Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

@wonder: because i change place too frequently.. i've used network profiles before but i've just had enough of it since i always have to pick one each time i open arch..

Re: Learning Virtual Arch's Local IP Address

i don't understand. you change internet conection on the guest. this doesn't affect the ip of the archlinux. nat will give you the same gateway and an ip from the same class.

Re: Learning Virtual Arch's Local IP Address

wonder: i'm not using NAT, but Host Interface... this makes the guest available to the internal network..
