KDE applications not working

Whenever I try to start a KDE application( I use XFCE ), I get an error saying that the DCOPServer could not be started and dynamic linking is not working. I dont know if it affects all the applications, but the following do not work for sure. Could someone please tell me how to rectify this? I have a lot of data which I stand to lose sad
