Im kinda new to arch so need some guidance.
Having a small server at home holding some photos, music and movies.
/home/ftornell/Media
/home/ftornell/Media/Photos
/home/ftornell/Media/Music
/home/ftornell/Media/Movies
How can I share the Media folder?
Only running arch without X!
I've installed Samba, I think its the solution right?

Samba is fine, if you want to share with Windows machines. If it's linux only, I prefer nfs.
Some general forum advice - try not to use exclamation marks unless they're actually necessary*.
*Hint: they're never actually necessary.

If you are going to share the files with a windows pooter as well I usually just do "python -m SimpleHTTPServer" in the directory I want to be shared. The easiest way of doing it that I know of.

Hi ftornell,
I agree with tomk that Samba should be fine but that you should take a look at nfs if you're only dealing with Linux. I also want to add that if you want to share over the internet (and even if you just want to share over your LAN), you could run an http server using Apache or an ftp server using vsftpd. The wiki articles should be able to get you started if you want to use either of them.
