Get current core installation ISO?

Hi,
I want to install Arch on a relatively new PC. I downloaded the current ISO, burned it on a CD and tried to install, but it had a problem sometime after the GRUB screen and was not able to start the installer. (Problem occurs both with the normal version and with 'Legacy IDE'.)
Same problem with an USB stick.

Apparently the problem is with some driver not being current enough for the hardware in the PC. (Reports on what exactly is the problem vary.)
I had similar problems when trying to install Fedora 10, only the newest OpenSuSE finally worked, but I would much prefer to have Arch on that machine.

I suspect that with a normal installation ISO that contained all the current packages and the current kernel instead of those from 2008.06, the installation might work. But how would I get/create that?

There is an unofficial iso made by one of the devs.  You might want to try that.  http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=60385

Out of curiousity do you have any idea of when the next official core iso will be out?
