what is .ICEauthority ?

Hello everyone

Each time I reboot, I have to log in as a root, delete .ICEauthority for my user, and then log in as a user.  If I don't, I have a message telling me my session lasted less than 10 seconds bla bla...you know the one..  It can't read the darn file.  Not a big deal, but still.  Any idea?  I'm on arch 0.7, latest kernel, gnome2.8...

Thanks

Yanik

A possible solution would be to use one of the script that is run at the end of the x session.
Example: If you are using kdm, put a rm command in /opt/kde/share/config/kdm/Xreset

Yeah, I'll see what I can do with GDM, but I don't really like dirty hacks, I'd prefer to get my hands on what's screwing my file.

Thanks snowman

Re: what is .ICEauthority ?

are you running portmap and fam in your rc.conf daemons?  This seemed to help me.
