Yes that's the case.
I just delayed the start of lxpanel for 6 seconds and it works fine (that delay isn't noticable since it takes longer for X to boot up).
Funny thing is, this does not happen on last stable vesrion.

Here it's more like after an hour or two it is gone all of a sudden. Could that be because of system style changes? I'm trying to find my perfect desktop and I'm playing around with murrine a little bit and after doing that for some minutes I recognize, that my start menu is gone. But today, no playing at all and the menu is still there after 17 hours uptime
