I have a Normal Dell Keyboard I have tried
cd ect
cd /ect
cd ect/
None of that works
cd media
WORKS FINE
I am logged in as root, also none of the passwords setup by me for normal users work.

but i still need to configure SLiM
ect/ shows up after i press tab but i still can't cd into it so i can get to etc/inittab
Also do I have to make my inittab file completely myself? because I figured that I was doing it wrong because each time I edited it, it said new file at the bottom. or how do i properly install SLiM?

you shouldn't have to create /etc/inittab, it should be there already.
what if you type ls /etc/ can you see the inittab file?
it seems you like to write ect instead of etc, be careful about this, this is maybe why you're creating new files. again, you should use tab completion

WOW, I just realized I was typing ect instead of etc I am going to try installing Slim again.
Lol and I thought i had some type of breakage lol
