On the weekend I was able to see again, that I can't connect to mixed WPA/WPA2 networks. Neither wicd or wpa_supplicant were able to establish a connection.
I have an rt2860 card with the official ralink driver 1.8. (eeePC 1000H)
I can connect to WPA2 and WEP networks, I can't connect to those mixed or even open networks. (with wicd)
With netcfg or wpa_supplicant I can't even connect to WEP networks, didn't test other ones yet.
It really annoys me that just can't connect to certained networks. Esspecially if you use a notebook and you want to use several different networks and you can't change the encryption everytime.
I went through the wiki pages several times but I couldn't find anything which could help me to connect to all kinds of networks with _one_ tool!
I really hope someone doesn't have the same problem as me but a solution for it.
BTW I tried autowifi, networkmanager, and some others.
