Newbie Networking Help?

Hello first I want to thank the community for all the help I have received prior to now and I hope this will be the last thing that I will need help with.

What is the best way to do automatic wireless network connection through my /etc/rc.conf I would prefer not running NetworkManager or somethin like that?

How can I do a direct connect between an ArchLinux and Vista PC? Before I had an XP and Vista directly communicating both with static IP's (123.123.123.1 and 123.123.123.2) sharing files between them. Is there someway to do something along those lines they are connected with Ethernet cables through a switch I would like just to mount the Windows shares on my ArchLinux box.

Look into samba. You have the whole internet and the Arch wiki at your feet wink.

smbnetfs worked fantastic for me, and sounds to be exactly what you're looking for (its in the wiki under samba)

And so it went...
