Well, I am having the same trouble too. Did you solve the problem...? If you did, please post your solution here. Thanks.

Re: moc play wma problem

Unfortunately I didn't solve it.
Someone suggested me to try moc-svn. But I haven't tried it yet. Maybe you want to have a try.

Re: moc play wma problem

Its a bug with moc -- which has a solution but that is only for gentoo. I am not sure how you would be able to get it working in Arch.

Here's the link, for what its worth

I believe that fix will work for Arch too. I'll look into it.

Re: moc play wma problem

Ok..

As my 20 odd post count indicates, I am just a beginner learning the ropes.

I am using the AUR moc-devel version. I have ffmpeg installed from the repos - version, ffmpeg 20081220-1.

The fix seems to be patching or editing the source code file of ffmpeg. How can I do that on Arch...?

Incidentally, this problem is not just on moc. cmus also has the same issue.

If I'm not wrong, u'll need to download the source code from moc.
I think it's caused by ffmpeg, as it modified something as suggested by Inxsible.

Re: moc play wma problem

Hello!

Snowman did you solve this bug too : http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/13164 ?

I tried to rebuild this morning ffmpeg-svn and moc-svn but I'm still unable to play m4a.

I've just put a fixed moc in extra.

jaydoc: Get the patch from ABS or SVN. Check the PKGBUILD if you don't know how to use the patch.

The cmus in extra as problem with wma files while the one in  testing plays them fine. There's currently a bug with the ffmpeg/faad2 rebuild in testing. If I can't fix it soon, I'll put a fixed cmus in extra.

No progress here. I'll probably need to ask upstream.

Re: moc play wma problem

@snowman...

thanks for the very quick response. I have another question though.

does the version of moc in extra have an equalizer...? I mean, something like this. if not, how can one add it...?

It dosen't have it. It's problably be there at the next upstream update. You can add it by patching the source. The patch is available at the link you posted.
