Hi all,
Just liked to thank the people who have, undoubtedly, put a lot of effort into the
various guides and how-tos at this site. Especially the beginner's guide, xorg and
laptop stuff.
Top notch, great stuff. Made the learning curve so much smoother for a linux-
newbie (relatively) like me.
Cheers,
eeg

Glad you like it. Its the combined efforts of many Archers that has helped improve the wiki over the years.
Welcome to the forums and to Arch.

There's no such thing as a stupid question, but there sure are a lot of inquisitive idiots !

Thanks for the appreciation! It's rare to see someone coming here with thanks instead of a complaint. The thing to keep in mind though, is that almost all of those guides were written by archers just like you. The best way to show thanks is to take something you know and write up a guide of your own on the wiki, or contribute to existing ones where you see room for improvement. Pay it forward
Any rate, welcome to the community!

Wait... I thought we called ourselves Archies?
@Daenyth
Credit where it is due. I was impressed by the wiki, especially :
- how the overall approach is to teach and inform... as opposed to blindly
following / cut-and-pasting instructions;
- how they never assume you already know EVERYTHING;
- how well the topics were organised, with little pointers and links here and
there to show learners more advanced stuff or related topics;
By comparison, Fedora and Ubuntu forums/wikis can sometimes seem like the
aftermath of a woman suddenly giving birth to multiple quintuplets in the
middle of Mardi Gras parade (i.e, well-meaning chaos).
For sure, if I feel I can contribute some knowledge to the wiki, I'd do it.
Arch is beginning to grow on me

electrowasamacallitnow? Nah, I actually meant to type "egg" but had a pinky
malfunction... and ended up with "eeg". Plus I'm more of an ECG guy
