Re: Firefox bad version ?

Arch cannot use the branded Firefox because of some legal issues with the Mozilla devs. There is no difference between the latest Firefox and the one in the repository except for the name and logo.

However, there is a branded Firefox in Aur. Use yaourt to install it.

Re: Firefox bad version ?

Due to trademarks or something like that, the Firefox name cannot be redistributed, however Gran Paradiso can be; it is Firefox in everything but name. Around the forums there is a script to change the aforementioned to Firefox.

The legal stuff may not be exact, but the rest is true to my knowledge.

Re: Firefox bad version ?

Or you can just use firebrand (in the archlinuxfr repo) to patch Arch's firefox (this is what XFire is referring to). This takes all of half a minute, so no worrying about compiling smile

Re: Firefox bad version ?

You can also use firefox-pgo from yaourt, or my repo.
