Hey,
Hopefully this will have a quick solution but I am getting about half the download speed when using Arch than when I use Ubuntu. With Ubuntu my download averages about 4Mb/s but when using Arch its only 2Mb/s is there something I have missed during configuration that would create such as disparency in speeds?
Thanx.

you can use rankmirror to put automatically the fastest mirror in front:
http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Imp … rankmirror
2mb/s is quite a good speed. don't know why you are dissapointed. the answer for you question is that ubuntu use different mirror than archlinux.

Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

Im not talking Package mirrors im talking everything related to the internet.

It shouldn't be Arch/Ubuntu related.
Maybe your ISPs or the website in question was having a bad day. Can you try a speed tester?
Ah, good taste! What a dreadful thing! Taste is the enemy of creativeness.

I tried www.speedtest.net got approx 4Mb\s for Ubuntu and 2Mb\s for Arch a couple of mintues apart. Tried the speed test again on both and got about the same results again.
Thats the only reason I thought I miteve mis-configured something.
