Inspiron 8000 stops at "loading udev uevents" [Solved]

Hi,

I'm trying to install arch on a DELL Inspiron 8000 using the arch 2009.02 iso cd.
It stops at boot during "Loading UDev uevents" and the PC does not respond anymore.

Maybe I have to disable a module from the kernel command line, but I have no idea how to determine the one that should be disabled.
Any idea how to fix that ?

Thanks

Well, no luck with the iso cd 2009.02.
So, I've tried the 2008.06...and it passed without problem, doh!

Once install will be done, I will perform a pacman -Syu and try to identify the problematic part.
If found, I will of course post the solution.

I am not sure what you can do while installing from a 2009.02 iso, but once you are done installing with the 2008 iso and after you update your system, you will need to blacklist the iTCO_wdt module in your MODULES array.

Damned, I didn't get that iTCO_wdt was a general problem.

You (and oztrailrider) provided me the solution in fact.
It's described in http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=67795

...just need to input 'disablemodules=iTCO_wdt' in the command line.
For sure I will have to blacklist the modules in rc.conf.

Thank you very much!!
