Skype cannot be installed

I've been trying to install skype for some time now, but I can't get it to work. As I've understood it, skype is located via pacman at the community repository. So, this is what I did with the pacman conf:

[community]
# Add your preferred servers here, they will be used first
Include = /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist

Now, when I try to install skype, I get the message

error: 'skype': not found in sync db

I've been trying and changing around with the mirrors in mirrorlist, , sync pacman etc but it still doesn't seem to work.

Any ideas to help a noob? tongue

Re: Skype cannot be installed

I've tried both pacman -S skype and pacman -Sy skype, both gives me the same error.

Re: Skype cannot be installed

And when you do pacman -Sy skype does it say he is synchronising community repo?

Re: Skype cannot be installed

This is the code I get from typing -Sy skype:

:: Synchronizing package databases...
 testing is up to date
 core is up to date
 extra is up to date
 community is up to date
skype package not found, searching for group...
error: 'skype': not found in sync db

So.. sad

Are you on x86_64?

Re: Skype cannot be installed

Yeah, no skype for x86_64, but there is a bin32-skype in the AUR you may have a look at.

Re: Skype cannot be installed

Thanks for pointing this out smile As you can see, I'm really new at arch.
