Re: [solved] usb device descriptor read error

What does dmesg say after you plug it in? Is hal running? ps ax |grep hald

Re: [solved] usb device descriptor read error

hal is running. dmesg output stays unchanged, but after trying another usb port:

usb 3-4: new full speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 17
usb 3-4: device descriptor read/64, error -62
usb 3-4: device descriptor read/64, error -62
usb 3-4: new full speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 18
usb 3-4: device descriptor read/64, error -62
usb 3-4: device descriptor read/64, error -62
usb 3-4: new full speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 19
usb 3-4: device not accepting address 19, error -62
usb 3-4: new full speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 20
usb 3-4: device not accepting address 20, error -62
hub 3-0:1.0: unable to enumerate USB device on port 4

How to solve:
Turning off notebook for a while solves the problem (restart is not enough).
Thanks for help

Same problem here. Will try to reboot and test like you said now.

Update: worked. This is just like windows. omg.
