Wireless was working fine until a little while ago...
Now when I use (as root) iwconfig to set the ap's essid and mac address, the essid sets just fine, but every time the AP says not-associated where it should have the mac address I just told it to use. What could be going wrong? Why am I being ignored by my wireless interface?
A newly arisen problem, and a very frustrating one. ![]()
Maybe I'm missing something here.

Perhaps use a graphical option like Wicd?

No, but the network was not encrypted...
Strangely enough, this happened on a business trip (I couldn't connect to the hotel WiFi or any neighboring networks) but now that I'm home it connects fine to my home network... ![]()
(Thank god for business centers with free internet)
