Hello,
Ive just got myself a VPN and my router does not support VPN. So because of that I have to remove the router (a netgear wgt624 v3).
After connecting my computer right into the wall and restarting the computer, the startup shows that Arch fails to startup the network.
Inside KDE I can get the devices by using:
bash-3.2# ifconfig eth0
eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:1B:FC:DB:7F:1E
inet addr:192.168.1.2 Bcast:192.168.1.255 Mask:255.255.255.0
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
RX packets:3856 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
TX packets:3593 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
RX bytes:3227833 (3.0 Mb) TX bytes:567022 (553.7 Kb)
Interrupt:26 Base address:0xc000
Trying to to connect by using dhcpd gets timedout, just like at the startup.
Last I must say that my internet connection does not require any setup, just plug and play so to say, internet worked perfect first time after installing Archlinux, but removing it... well...
Thanks in advance

What type of internet connection do you have that is "plug and play" without any authentication? :s
You'll need to compare the IP settings on the router to the setting you've posted and see what's different.
If the details above are being set by DHCP, then it has to be getting those details from somewhere...

I do not need any authentication, and I have dynamic IP. What I can see from the router is that Im correct.
This is what the router says:
Internet Port
MAC Address 00:0F:B5:EA:22:F3
IP Address 94.255.225.99
DHCP DHCPClient
IP Subnet Mask 255.255.252.0
Domain Name Server 217.75.96.11
217.75.96.12
But Im not sure since it does not work like I want

Hickin,
I do not need any authentication either, Internet comes through the same cable as cable-TV, but I do have
a cable modem.
If I change the device connected to the cable modem I have to switch the modem off and on because it
remembers the MAC address of the last device connected.
Could that be your case ?
