I'm very concerned about my Gnome install. I updated for the first time in a while, and rebooted - just to see how things were. I started X (no issues), and Gnome loaded quickly. The problem is that my CPU is now maxed out for no reason, and it never drops between the 95% mark. Gnome system monitor is reporting 100% usage, but when I check my processes with it, I can't find the culprit. htop shows that X is using 94-100% CPU - something that I find hard to believe.
Here is htop output;

bump..
(would it help if this was moved to the [testing] sub-forum?)

i would guess that since you're still using xorg-server 1.4, that it probably relates to this problem?

thank you!
the xorg update was blocked because the newer intel drivers were breaking everything. the update should help.
