huge firefox

I was wondering why current mozilla-firefox is twice as big as the official mozilla.org build?

Re: huge firefox

are you sure? did you check on the size after uncompressing? other than that  perhaps it is extra junk people wanted added on that adds to the size.

Re: huge firefox

Could go to about:buildconfig and check if everything is ok.

Re: huge firefox

# ls -l /var/cache/pacman/pkg/mozilla-firefox-1.0-1.pkg.tar.gz

-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 12061235 2004-11-30 19:30 /var/cache/pacman/pkg/mozilla-firefox-1.0-1.pkg.tar.gz

From mozilla.org:

Free Download
for Linux i686, English (8.2MB)

Not twice as big, but 50% bigger. Why?

Re: huge firefox

like i said check the UNCOMPRESSED size.  other than that you will have email the package maintainer because only he will be able to give you reasons why.

Re: huge firefox

it's possible the official installer downloads some stuff... compare only the binaries after decompression, as sarah said
