Intel 4965 wlan0 no interface

Hello. I have a fresh install of arch x86_64 on my Acer Aspire 5920. It has the Intel 4965 wireless thing. When I run iwconfig I get a wlan0 interface. I run iwconfig wlan0 essid XXXX. I can see that wlan0 is gets with my essid running iwconfig once more. Then, when running dhcpcd wlan0 I get "device missing". I don't understand how iwconfig and lspci can detect my wireless interface but not connect. Anyone that can help me?

EDIT.
Exact message is "dhcpcd: wlan0: interface not found or invalid"

Did you do :

ifconfig wlan0 up

?
Can you show printouts of ifconfig and iwconfig?
