Hi.
I have configured my machine to start X (with SLiM) but I forgot to add "hal" to DAEMONS, so I can't use the mouse, nor can I use the keyboard.
Is there any way to change DAEMONS before booting?

chroot into your system with a live-cd and then edit rc.conf.

Ah, of course, that makes sense. Is there any other option (for future reference)?

append to grub kernel line , single or init 1. you can do that by pressing "e" in grub menu
Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

Boot to runlevel 1 if you start slim from rc.conf, or runlevel 3 if you start it from inittab (which is what you should do)

Much easier than farting around with a Live CD and mounting your drives. Your boot line should look something like this after you edit it:
kernel /vmlinuz26 root=/dev/mapper/vgSys-root ro vga=773 1
Note the '1' on the end.

I just wanna add that maybe, having more than the two default entries in Grub can be useful. Edit your menu.lst and add an option to boot in CLI, just in case (or if you don't want to boot in X) :-).
