Weird wireless problem. netcfg rt2500usb. [SOLVED]

Ok so I'm at a loss on this one. When I boot my computer my wireless works fantastic. low ping tmes to router, high download speeds. Problem is if I need to bring the network down by typing netcfg down profile when i bring it back up again with netcfg profile it's crazy slow. I go from 16mbps download to like 300kbps. The thing is it doesn't only effect my computer, the whole network crawls to a slow.

I'm at a complete loss

OK so I guess I spoke to soon. after playing around I figured out that if I;
netcfg down profile
modprobe -r rt2500usb
modprobe rt2500usb
netcfg profile

everything is peachy. I just made an alias called netcfg-down that does netcfg down profile && modprobe -r rt2500usb && modprobe rt2500 and did something similar for an alias called netcfg-restart

Edit 2: thanks go to freenode #archlinux user Arkham for at the very least ackowledging my presence wink
