Firefox often has issues with the bookmarks toolbar. Most of the time its alright but it suddenly goes all nuts. Most of the bookmark links don't work on clicking and their favicons disappear. Then suddenly the problem stops.
And firefox uses a hell lot of memory when I open certain sites like gmail. This too happens irregularly.
I don't want to reset my toolbars for solving the first problem though its a common solution since I have customized it a lot to do it again. Besides, this problem SHOULDN'T be happening anyway. The second problem is not accepted to be a memory leak since it does not follow a simple recurring pattern which can be reproduced.
Any idea what is wrong here ?
And finally, why does arch have a rebranded firefox ?

I ordinarily never have problems with firefox but yesterday the favicons for all my bookmarks disappeared, and nothing I've tried has brought them back. Everything else is working fine, however.

What add-ons are you using?
Offline
I'm using the following addons:
01. Flashblock
02. FlashGot
03. Google Toolbar for Firefox
04. Remove It Permanently
05. Stelther
06. User Agent Switcher
07. WevDeveloper
08. FireFTP
09. Extended Statusbar
10. DownThemAll
11. Download Helper
12. ChatZilla
13. CacheViewer
14. Adblock Plus
These are all fairly popular addons and hence I assume they don't cause any bugs.
Themes:
I use Noia 2.0 (eXtreme) theme.
Plugins:
Java (TM) Plugin
OpenOffice.org Plugin
Shockwave Flash
Gecko Media Player Plugin
Fake Plugins to fool sites asking for these: (Thanks to Gecko Media Player Plugin)
1. DivX Browser Plugin
2. MPlayer Plugin
3. QuickTime Plugin
4. RealPlayer 9 Plugin
5. Windows Media Player Plugin
I didn't see anything in the Known Issues page which is anything like what I'm facing.
And yeah, google toolbar's automatic history-based quick launch does not seem to remember newer pages. It defaults to a certain set of pages which is different from what it showed before.
I don't seem to be able to edit bookmarks, and all bookmarks appear blank.
This bug has been on since firefox 3 released I guess.

It seems my particular problem (favicons disappearing in the bookmarks toolbar) seemed to be caused by my GTK theme. I tried a new one not long before I noticed the problem and switching back restored the favicons.
