smbnetfs Doesn't Let me Access Windows Shares

I used the instructions at http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Acc … g_smbnetfs to get at my Windows shares and now I see in

Failed to open directory "c".
Permission Denied

I created a file ~/.smb/smbnetfs.auth and put in there:

auth "workgroup/Captain Kirk" ""

That is how I log into the Win 2000 machine--name has a space and there is no password.

But it still doesn't work. Truth is that the share there has RW access for "everybody."

Any ideas?
