Yes, tint 2 with the taskbar_mode setting set to multi_desktop. I love it...panel and pager in one. It even has drag and drop support.

I assume you knew this was coming, but can we get further information on this radar?

In openbox, i use feh to update the wallpaper every 10 minutes from the noaa radar
first, i created the following radar.sh in ~/scripts/

#! /bin/bash

cd /tmp/
rm latest.gif latest.jpg
wget http://radar.weather.gov/Conus/RadarImg/latest.gif
mogrify -crop 1024x768+2105+502 latest.gif
#convert -modulate 75 -negate latest.gif latest.gif
#convert -transparent "#b03e00" latest.gif latest.jpg
convert latest.gif latest.jpg
mv latest.jpg radarwall.jpg
#gconftool-2 -t str --set /desktop/gnome/background/picture_filename /tmp/radarwall.jpg
feh --bg-center /tmp/radarwall.jpg

If you look at the radar.weather.gov website, it has a great collection of updates images, including latest.gif which is the entire US. I used the mogrify -crop command to crop it to my screen size, with my location in the desired portion of the image. You can open gimp and use the rectangle select tool to get your desired values for the mogrify -crop command.

Then, I did crontab -e, and added a cron job to update it once every 10 minutes;
*/10 * * * * DISPLAY=:0.0 /home/anubis/scripts/radar.sh

thanks to evr for the original script/idea

conky piped to dzen, yes.

background no
out_to_console yes
out_to_x no
update_interval 2
total_run_times 0
use_spacer none

TEXT
^fg()cpu ^fg(orange)$cpu% ^fg()mem ^fg(orange)$memperc% ^fg()bat ^fg(purple)${battery_percent BAT1}% ^fg()${time %d.%b %H:%M}

Not quite the orange I wanted but ok....I suppose you asked because of the conky bug with interpreting everything after a "#" as a comment...

Exactly wink Thanks for the config, very helpful indeed!

edit: actually, I'm not doing too well sad The "^" is an escape character, right? I can't seem to get it right in my .conkyrc...
