Re: Archlinux wallpapers

There you are: http://www.arch-stuff.org/content/show. … ent=105491
A wallpaper with the .blend file... that's really Open Source! big_smile

P.S. If any graphic artist could help me improve the quality of lighting there I'd be really happy smile.

Re: Archlinux wallpapers

BTW - you'll need Blender and Yafray installed

I've recently learned how to use photons in Blender big_smile.

This one took almost 10 hours to render... tongue. No I know why graphic artists prefer to draw such things themselves, instead of rendering them big_smile

BTW: I got such message on omploader: "Omploader Recommends Windows Vista™" ?

Holy crap, that looks epic! Any change you could put that over a black background instead?  I wouldnt mind taking the .blend file to render it myself, as long as the process to get it rendering isn't too difficult tongue

I think I can take a look on this at the weekend smile. I have done some experiments with dark background before, but there was something bad with this (I cannot recall what exactly).

The first dark version (let's call it beta):
tMjA1cA

using darker background than this one makes the reflections less visible unfortunately.

Hi,
I've just created a nice, Arch-themed wallpaper: http://www.xfce-look.org/content/show.php?content=98607

Nice job.  I like the 1680x1050 version because it lacks the 'arch linux' text.  The logo is enough I think.

Very nice! (I would prefer resolution 1920x1200, but I scale it to that size)

Re: Archlinux wallpapers

Right. In the future I should take care about more resolutions than just 1680x1050 and 1600x1200...
