Hi
I'm using Wicd 1.6.2 on Arch i686.
When booting up Wicd autoconnects fine to my wireless network and i'm able to ping hosts and run pacman -Syu.
But when i startx i don't have a proper connection, though wicd-client says it's connected.
Then i have to reconnect to get it working again.
Does anyone know what's wrong?

Is it working from command line ? Interesting. Can you set in wicd settings dhclient ? Some people complained about dhcpcd recently.

this is really bizarre, network shouldn't be affected when X is started (regardless of the general bugginess noted around the forums lately). what WM/DE are you using? anything odd in .xinitrc that shouldn't be there? is gnome starting some daemon that's effing with your connection?

My .xinitrc
#!/bin/sh
#
# ~/.xinitrc
#
# Executed by startx (run your window manager from here)
#exec ck-launch-session xfce4-session
exec ck-launch-session startxfce4
As you can see I'm using Xfce.
The problem persist with both dhcpcd and dhclient.

I changed wicd to use static DNS with my wireless connection. As for now, the last three times i've booted and started X, it has worked.
