Hi all,
i'm having a lot of problems setting Xen up. I've installed the Xen package from community and added a bunch of stuff to my menu.lst:
# (2) Arch Xen
title Arch Linux (Xen)
root (hd0,0)
kernel /xen.gz dom0_mem=2097152
module /vmlinuz-2.6.18.8-xen0 root=/dev/mapper/RootVG-OSRoot ro vga=792 console=tty0
module /xen0.img
A few problems have occurred.
1. everything seems to start booting correctly until it tries to set up eth0, this fails.
my network card is:
03:00.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8111/8168B PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet controller (rev 01)
according to lspci
2. after this, i get no x session as it looks like as far as I can see the "nvidia" driver specified in my xorg.conf won't work as i'm guessing it's not setup for the xen kernel which i think is 2.6.18.8 judging by the menu.lst.
I've not managed to get past these two things yet, so any help would be appreciated. I think the nvidia problem is the biggy for me, as I've no idea what I need to do to make it work.
Any ideas anyone?
Thanks in advance!
[edit: if it helps, kernel.log reports i'm using this nvidia driver:
NVIDIA UNIX x86_64 Kernel Module 185.18.14

Did you read these ones :

yes, that's where i started. but i'm pretty sure it doesn't answer any of my questions. as mentioned above, i've got the kernel to start booting after the install of xen, i'm running into problems therein and do not know how to fix those, namely the xorg problem (which i think is to do with the nvidia card not having a module or something for the xen kernel (which is way older than the 2.6.30 the standard arch installs, it's something like 2.6.18), and the problem with that kernel not detecting my network card. i think if i can sort these two issues i'll be not far off sorting it.

Hi there,
Have also Problems with XEN on this architecture (x86_64).:/
Have tried the community package which wasn't suitable in any way for my purpose.
Have now recompiled with AUR but there are still several issues.
Over all the XEND is not starting.
He crashes with the message that he is missing python libraries.
Until this I have figured out that "make tools" is failing right now.
Have tried different GCC and PYTHON versions but nothing seems to work.:(
Here you find the whole output of makepkg: http://pastebin.ca/1523921
Regards,
nIcE
