Whats the correct way to setup wireless and wired broadcasting?

I have cable internet. I want linux computer to act as a router for home network, to broadcast internet. I'm just interested into hardware/confuguration, currently I have two NIC (both ethernet) in linux box and wireless access point (linksys).

so I connect interneto to one NIC, broadcast to another, attach switch and connect linksys router to switch?

                                    / ethernet connections
INTERNET -> linux router -> switch -
                                    \ wireless router -> wireless connections

or is it possible to just attach wireless adapter with broadvast option and o it like that:

                          /  switch -> ethernet connections
INTERNET -> linux router -
                          \ wifi broadcast for wireless connections

(my limited knowledge says that its possible only to broadcast to one interface with ifconfig?)

appreciate your thoughts

there is now knowledge that is not power
