ASUS EeePC 1005HA
Everything works perfectly except for some unnecessary hotkeys.
Enjoying 6h+ bat. time.
The ProggyTiny font is really nice with the 1024x600 screen, wmii and vimperator can really cram a lot of stuff on the screen with it.

I have an ASUS Eee PC 1005HA as well.
I haven't set it all up yet, but it seem to work nicely and the battery life is really good.
@spektre: Have you (or anyone else) set up boot booster? I have seen some guides, but mine doesn't take long to POST without it. Just wondering if it makes much difference.
Offline
To answer my own question:
Boot booster does speed up the boot, but not by too much. It saves a couple of seconds by effectively skipping the bios checks and loading straight into grub.
It's not hard to set up, so I would say it is worth doing. Here is a link to the guide on the ubuntu wiki if anyone wants to look.

=> X : no need for a xorg.conf file, it works correctly without that. Maybe faster X launch is possible, with a well made xorg.conf, because it might avoid full fledged hardware detection at each launch.
=> Network : both wired and wireless networking work directly
=> Keyboard & mousepad : work directly, even the special keys combination with the 'Fn' key, for stuffs like screen contrast adjustement.
=> Battery time : 4 hours, 90% screen brightness, text editing and a bit of websurfing. Didn't installed special stuffs to save power yet
Note : booting from a 8 Go USB stick makes GRUB sad. A 1 Go USB stick worked flawlessly, I suspect some 32 bits limitation under the hood. Might be nice to mention it on the wiki, in the 'Installation' section.

Asus 1005HA here
What works:
wifi (not tried ethernet), touchpad and keyboard without a xorg.conf, function keys for screen brightness and sound volume, with acpi+pm-utils suspend on lid closing, 6,5hours of battery time with laptop-mode-tools enabled
What doesn't:
suspend doesn't bring back up wifi, modprobe+network restart needed. Fn+F2 to switch on and off wifi. Pressing power button doesn't correctly umount all the partitions, it forces a fsck after every cold boot (tried with poweroff, halt, shutdown -h witout luck). Bios updates with rom on usb stick (not arch related but still a problem nonetheless).
To get something done, a committee should consist of no more than three persons, two of them absent.

Had problems with headphone jack not working, had to set modprobe.conf
options snd-hda-intel index=0 model=Acer
Now I just mute Front in alsamixer to mute the speakers, whenever I use headphones.
Also disable mouse-pad button doesn't seem to work properly. I can't get the mouse-pad working after it has been pressed and unpressed.
Everything else seems to be working, except I haven't tried wifi.

- the media card reader works just fine
- built in mic and mic jack do not work in current stock kernel (2.6.30) but support has been added into 2.6.31 I still have not gotten them to work yet.
- support for lighted touch buttons added in kernel 2.6.31, in prior kernels most worked but the mute button would just not change from white to orange.
- I have not gotten the remote to work yet.
- no bluetooth. hawkings technology usb dongle works just fine though
i'm running the radeonhd driver for the videocard, with compositing enabled. It works fine for transparancy in fluxbox which is all that I use it for.

One weird issue that I have is that randomly hotplugging usb will fail. I have no idea why nor am I getting any error messages. This is both for custom compiled kernels and the stock kernel.

Sony Vaio VGN-Z750D
The entire Z series requires a great deal of work to get going, especially on Arch.
You will need to pass the parameter acpi_osi="!Windows 2006" to your kernel, which causes a kernel panic due to the braindead way Arch parses these parameters. The solution is to compile your own kernel which does not need initramfs, and then you can pass the acpi_osi parameter. This allows you to switch the graphics card following a halt, and also prevents both graphics cards from be initialised at the same time, confusing X and wasting power.
Many of the other features (sleep button, vol buttons, power management to drive/bluetooth, etc) can be fixed using an updated sony laptop module, available here: https://launchpad.net/~sony-vaio-z-series
The memory stick reader does not currently work, but a patch is available from the mailing list provided in the previous link, and it has been accepted into the kernel tree. It will likely be included in .32 and later.
I *HIGHLY* recommend joining the mailing list.
Once the initial hurdles are cleared, however, it's a wonderful laptop.

I've got two laptops one from work and the private which run linux. The work notebook is an elitebook 2530p which runs perfectly fine. The only thing that isn't working is the fingerprint reader. Not all Fn keys work with Qt4 but there is a script for thinkpads that I adjusted and now the brightness keys work as well. It think the battery lifetime could be extend in Linux. KDE4 shows about 4.4h whereas on windows it is more than 6.
The other one is a HP 6510s laptop a bit more than two years old. Still running fine but wireless network troubles a lot since a couple of months and no one has a solution so far.

Just got Hp Pavilion DV7-2123, works nicely, few issues with WLAN and sound, but nothing that i could have not fixed. Installed Arch Linux because it seemed to have nice community, good repos, and because it has a nice logo
Also Dual-Booted with Vista, mainly because of games. Was easy to partition because this laptop has two hard drives and Vista was installed to the first.
Arch is better than Fedora (in my desktop pc), Fedora has a lot more bugs and other issues. Also the laptop is very nice, Call of Duty 4 runs (on windoze ) without a trace of lag with highest settings.
Laptop: Hp Dv7-2123 with 32-bit Arch Linux and Windoze Visva dual-booted
"Normal computer"^^: AMD Athlon 64 x2 4400+, nVidia 8800GT 256mb with Fedora 11.

Just got a Thinkpad X200
Everything ran nearly perfect out of the box. There are a few very minor issues:
The mute button mutes, but does not unmute. If you hit one of the volume buttons though, it unmutes.
ThinkVantage button does nothing, you could probably change that.
Besides that, nearly everything works.
Its a great laptop. The only real downside is the battery life tends to be a bit worse than Windows..

I just replaced the 32-bit Arch install on my Acer Aspire 7730 with x86_64, and no issues to report so far. The only thing that didn't work with the 32-bit setup was suspend-to-disk, which was also broken with Ubuntu, and I haven't tested it on this one. Everything else seems OK. Compiling from AUR is SO much faster than before - also helped by having found out about using 'make -jX' to put multiple cores to work properly.
(I have to admit the reason for starting with 32-bit Arch, which was that I'd had the thing for nearly a year, and still hadn't realised it was a 64-bit processor. It never occurred to me it would be, so entrenched is the influence of 32-bit Windows...)
